Functions

When it comes to staging your Function at the Voodoo Lounge (or downstairs within the ‘bar atmosphere’ of the Rocket Room), there are three (3) time factors you must take into consideration. These revolve around whether you wish to hold your event: during the day; just prior to opening, or; after opening to the general public.

TIMES

These times are all governed by laws governing liquor licensing.

The Voodoo Lounge and Rocket Room trade under a Nightclub License.

Venues with a nightclub licenses are the only venues legally permitted to display full nudity.

Its hours of operation are between 6pm to 4am.

Any time outside of those hours requires that we obtain an Extended Trade Permit. These permits take approximately 3-4 weeks to process.

THE FOLLOWING TIME OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE

Option 1:

Between the hours of 6am to 6pm.

We require 28 days notice.

Entertainment and a Room Hire Fees apply.

Deposit required.

Option 2:

Between the hours 6pm and 8.30pm.

7 days notice is required.

Entertainment and a Room Hire Fees apply.

Deposit required.

Option 3:

After 8.30pm, whilst open to the public through to closing at 4am.

24 hours notice is required.

No Entertainment or Room Hire applies.

No deposit required (except where specific, requested entertainment or services are requested and must be pre-aid by us).

WHAT IS AND WHY DOES ROOM HIRE AND ENTERTAINMENT FEES APPLY?

Option 1 and 2:Entertainment and a Room Hire Fees apply.

Because we are not normally open during these hours we must roster on a manager and security (to the ratio set by law), plus bar staff, DJ and operational costs (power, cleaning fees etc), as well as, bring in dancers, musicians, burlesque striptease artists etc, to meet the hirers requirements.

Option 3: No Entertainment or Room Hire applies.

The staff, security and associated running costs are absorbed into the night’s general costs. If the client requires additional entertainment, specifically tailored to his event, he must pay a deposit to cover those costs).

COST OF ROOM HIRE

Option 1: from 6a.m. to 6p.m.

For groups of less than 50 persons @ a minimum of 3 hours, $600 per hour

For groups of more than 50 persons @ a minimum of 3 hours, $525 per hour

Option 2: from 6p.m. to 8.30p.m.

For groups of less than 50 persons @ a minimum of 3 hours, $350 per hour

For groups of more than 50 persons @ a minimum of 3 hours, $300 per hour

Option 3:

No Room Hire Fee applies.

These rates are all calculated on the minimum time of three (3) hours and will be reduced accordingly, if the room is hired for longer and what ‘deal you cut’ with the management when booking the venue.

ENTERTAINMENT COSTS

Striptease:

We provide the same adult services as any booking agency, from mild to wild striptease: but if those shows are staged on any other licensed venue (whether your local football club, hotel or social club) you and that venue may be subject to police or criminal charges and prosecution, whereas our venue is fully licensed and approved to stage the entertainment you specifically ask for.

  • Bucks Strip (see also Bucks Parties on this website): $200 for 1 girl, $300 for 2 girls
  • Hot Cream Strip with Pearls: $300
  • XXX Strips (of all types) P.O.A. and at the same rate of all reputable agencies.
  • XXX strips and any function associated with them must be discussed and booked face-to-face with our Maitre de to avoid nuisance calls and time-wasters. Exception applies to repeat clientele.

Topless/Nude Waitresses and Pole-dancers:

We can provide pole-dancers, who rotate freely between the stage and amongst your crowd, to double-up as either topless or full nude waitresses, at a more competitive rate than any other venue or agency.

  • Waitressing/Pole Dancing: $200 per hour.
  • We encourage all people holding an event at the Voodoo Lounge to purchase Tipping Dollars for their guests. This ensures everyone is ‘playing’, thus actively involved in the spirit of the day and prevents over-consumption and better interaction.
  • Lap-dances and their cost are negotiated directly with the dancers and do not form any part of our costings.

Cabaret, Comedians, Musicians, Show Girls and Other Specialty Acts:

At the top-end of entertainment, we have on our books, or have access to the best burlesque performers, circus acts, comedians, cabaret soloists and dancers, musicians and bands, touring artists, showgirls, novelty and vaudeville acts in the nation today. Which is why, of course, we have won Best Liven Adult Entertainment Venue in Australia two (2) years running at the Adult Industry Awards.

P.O.A. and again, must be booked face-to-face.

FOOD AND CATERING

Located as we are, at the top-end of the dining strip in Northbridge, we can draw from the incredible array of multi-cultural cuisine available there. Whether it is simple pick-food platters, a la carte or hot food from the bain-marie, it is the simplest task to ensure the very best food of your choice is served at your event. P.O.A.

We have over seven (7) years of experience catering to such diverse markets as: advertising and marketing companies; building, scaffolding and plumbing groups; radio and television stations; fashion, film and music launches, amongst many.

If there are more than 180 persons in your group we recommend opening downstairs Rocket Room as well, with free access via the staircase between both levels.

Downstairs is a rock’n’roll room, with a stage and facilities ideal for musicians and a huge bar in the middle of the room perfect for that “bar-room feeling” (with topless waitresses etc) that many blue collar workers prefer.

Upstairs, with its art deco décor and showroom lighting provides the perfect foil for parades, launches and a slightly more decadent or upmarket feel to the event.
